Sort of a poll question...did your final height end up being where you thought it would be?

A unfortunately! My father always said, "your grandfather grew 2 inches taller than his dad, and then I grew 2 inches taller than your grandpa, so you will probably do the same." My father is 5'9" and thus I expected to be about 5'11" growing up. As unluck would have it, I stopped at 5'7" :-/

I stopped growing by 14, stopping early sucks!
Same here!

A - I didn't start to grow until 13 or 14, then paused at 5ft 10 when I was 18. Another second small round (I guess? ) is around 20 and makes me reached 6ft. I hope I could get 2 more inches.
My shoes are the biggest in my family, size 14 / 15 .

B. I'm an inch and a bit taller than my dad, who's 5'6. Although 5'7 in only just below average height, I seem to see more guys a lot taller than me, that makes me think the average might be higher than the official stats say.

How about a follow up question. For everyone who answered "C", how many of you tall people had short parents? One of the thing that fascinates me about height and genetics are the kids who blew way past their parents. In general, my family on my mom's side is quite short, as in pretty much of the men are between 5'6 and 5'10. However, somewhow my youngest cousin on that side of the family ended up 6'4"! Even though his mom was only 5'4" and his dad was 5'8" and his older brother was 5'10". So now he is by far the tallest on that side of the family and really sticks out.

My parents are 5'10" and 6'2", all of my uncles are between 6'0" and 6'6", and my grandfather on my mother's side was 6'4". All of my siblings are younger, all girls, and all 5'10" or under.

Wow so you really stick out at family gatherings! Nobody even comes close to you. Funny how genetics can do that.

I don't know how to choose the answer since I had both A and C.

When I was in elementary school and secondary school, I'd always been a tallest guy in my class. As a Cambodian our average height for male is around 5'4. I was already in average height back in grade 8 which considered to be tall while most of my friends were shorter than me. I was expected to be around 5'10. But I stopped growing right since grade 8. And now all of my friends tower me back with their 5'10.

C) i cannot say i wasn't expecting to end up tall, but to be 6'11 feet tall is more than I've Ever expected... my parents aren't very tall: my dad is 6'1 and my mother is 5'7, but I heard my grand granddad was 6'6 so maybe the genes have been transmitted to me
