Growth spurt stories?

I have a true story for you guys. When I started high school, one of my classmates was 6 foot 2. He was the tallest guy in my class. He said that he had grown four inches over the summer. His name was Richard. The tallest guy in our school at that time was a senior and he was 6 foot 7. I used to wait to walk down the hall when he walked back to his locker after class. It was exciting to walk behind someone so tall! At the time, I think I was around 5 foot 5. I remember my chin only came up just a bit above the guy's waist!

Anyway, back to Richard. He was very cocky about his height and used it to dominate us little guys. I remember he would always touch the top of the door frame on his way into and out of class. He was a very smart kid but kind of lazy. Once he got jealous of another kid in our class who always had all the right answers. The kid was around 5 foot 2. Before class, Richard came up to him really close and towered over him. He looked way down at him and told him that he could step on him if he wanted to and he should stop being such a teacher's pet. The kid just looked way up at him and didn't dare say anything.

When the tallest guy in the school walked past Richard one morning, I heard Richard say under his breath, "He is so tall!" Well, Richard was on the basketball team and just grew an inch during the year which made him 6 foot 3. During the summer, he grew three inches! Then, the following summer, he grew another three inches making him 6 foot 8. I remember I was in the bathroom on the first day of school washing my hands when suddenly Richard came in. He stood right behind me which made me feel both excited and very intimidated at the same time. Then he combed his hair. I could see him in the mirror. I only came up to his chest.

He had a big smirk on his face when he saw me probably because I was shocked to see how huge he had become. He was also quite muscular now since he often worked out and was the centre of the basketball team. I said to him, "Hi Richard. You've grown again." He smiled and said to me, "You haven't!" Then he strutted off to class. That last year, Richard started to tease me a bit. One time when I was standing at my locker, I felt a huge hand cover my face and someone with a low, booming voice, said "Guess who?!" I said, "Richard?" He laughed and said, "How did you know?" I said, "Your huge hand gave it away!" He seemed to like that.

Next time, I was putting some books in my backpack, so I was kneeling down on the floor. Suddenly, I felt two huge hands gripping my ankles tightly and someone pulling me with a great force backwards. I was sliding along the floor. I thought it must have been Richard because the hands felt gigantic. Then, he let me go. I turned around.He was laughing. I said to him, "Pick on someone your own size." Fortunately, he didn't bother me again. Then, later during the year, I was in a play with his girlfriend, so he came to see the show. I guess he didn't know that I was a good actor, but after he saw me act, his attitude toward me changed.

I saw him at our high school graduation. He was 6 foot 10 by then. He came over to shake my hand, but it was more like he was shaking my elbow, because him fingers reached up to my elbow. He spread them over my hand and forearm. Then, he said, "You did a good job in that play." "Thanks", I said.

I saw him the following year at university. By that time, he had hit 7 feet. I came up below his shoulder and felt tiny. He saw me and asked me which building my next class was in. His class was also in that direction, so he said, "I'll walk with you for a while." I had to look way up just to speak to him. The feeling was great! He was even cockier than before. He was showing off like he usually did, saying how he was now playing for the university team and doing really well in his classes. I think he studied business. I imagine he became a giant boss who dominates all of his employees. I kind of wish I could work for him!

It was amazing to watch people growth.

I remember some instances of Cormier guys showing off. Once in a science, the tallest guy in the room who was 6'2 tried to have another guy, about 5'10, sit on a lab stool to see if he could hold him on it with two arms. He was too heavy and it didn't work.

In this same class I remember another guy during the in between period who eventually came out to 6'4. During a conversation, a girl asked how tall he was. He liked that question. There was another friend there who at the time was about 5'10. He loved that he was now even taller than his friend he knew for years and played baseball with.
