Here we go again. Another sudden heart attack kills a huge muscle guy. If they would only do moderate amounts of hormones they would still look great and this wouldn't happen.

He was actually about 6'2", according to the earlier info on him, and a 6'2" height also seems more feasible in view of the video I have on him. Most bodybuilders are rather nuts, but I have a grudging respect for their drive to literally give their lives to it. It's not like they don't know the massive heart attack awaits them.

I'm a Personal Trainer and a nutritionist.. FYI... Hormone pills wouldn't have caused this! If he had heart disease and was taking hormones then it may have contributed to it. HRT has been linked to heart disease, not a heart attack.. He had a heart attack because the blood flow wasn't restored quickly to his heart, he may in fact had other health issues, which why he possibly lifted weights and became a bodybuilder.. REMEMBER unhealthy people can have heart attacks too, it doesn't discriminate!!

Im not having a go at you "big don Weho" but please educate yourself before posting such a story, its sad that he passed away.. regardless of his size.. Like i say to my clients, you can be skinny or fat.. You can still have a heart attack!

Yes, but massive, sustained steroid use is a risk factor for heart attacks, no?

Instead of making a big deal out of what caused his heart attack, I find myself grieving at his passing. Greg Kovacs had been one of my favorite bodybuilders since I was way young.

Yes he was the first to compete at 300 lbs. and went up to 400 lbs in the off season. Steroid abuse does affect the heart. You can grow to 400 lbs. but you heart stays the same size even though it must do a lot more work. Also, too much hormones can shunt protein to skeletal muscles and leave cardiac muscle waiting for nourishment.

Another bodybuilder, a short one named Derek Anthony, just died waiting for a kidney transplant! What an idiot!
