I think it is because there are some of us, who feel the need to make contact, if we just sit back and enjoy the posts, then we would get alot more content. As a general rule, when someone posts a link to a social media site, don't go immediately and subscribe, just bookmark that site and enjoy the pics, if you subscribe / follow / etc. Then it may cause those who do not wish to have alot of attention to shut down what they did share.

Idk, I get a few randos over in my PMs on discord. Even if they're not being creepy it's awkward for someone to try and strike up a conversation only to immediately ghost you.
