The curve shaped by the CDC's available statistics, however, does allow one to estimate the number of American men between the ages of 20 and 40 who are 7 feet or taller: fewer than 70 in all.

This seems highly understated...I would have to think there are more.

You just started me thinking. Hey, let's try and collect all those 7 footers we know to see if there are really more than 70! Shall we? Or this 70 was just a poetic trick (7'0")?
Anyhow, if i have a little time, later on I am going to try and search American 7footers between 20-40 years of age. Also we can collect the older ones on a separate list, because many of the names mentioned in this article are now older. And let's not forget that many retired ball players, such as some mentioned in the article may be living in the US now but they are not American. Everyone is invited to contribute!
