How to Tell how tall someone is?

I'm only 5 foot 5, and I always where I reach on a man 6 foot 5. Would I be just at shoulder level? What are your methods of estimating someone's height?

Well, I guess it's hard because people are longer in different areas, but for reference, im 6'8" and this is where you'd be against me..

Btw, my father is 4'7.5" and i can see he reaches exactly at the bottom of ur pic, haha

It doesn't always work because of the variation in body frames, but usually a good break down would be something like this: a man a foot shorter than another comes up to the taller one's shoulders. Two foot shorter - just under the chest. Three feet shorter - at the true waist line ( couple inches above the belly button). Four feet shorter - the crotch. and then it begins to get slightly skewed due to the height and size of one or the other. If talking a giant man then five feet taller about half way down the thigh, six feet taller three fourths down the thigh...

i know that my eyelevel is about 1,98 meters or 6'6'' barefoot, so i if people are shorter than me i estimate how long the top of their heads is from my eye level. and if im in doubt whos taller, i look at peoples eyes, if im looking up or down. but thats only somthing i have to do rarely like once or twice a year. and in the odd case of somebody being obviously taller than me, i know a guy who is 7'3'' and i can pretty much remember how tall he is compared to me, i just compare the "new" tall guy to my memory of his height. i have made an art out of estimating peoples height.

a few years ago, I was at a Mall and seen some female basketball player. Thanks to your picture she had to be 6ft-9"
I was just about eye level with her Breasts...
